OH, you say…
but how easy is it to provide Dear Fido with yummy delicious food – anything will just about do!
And, you will be right, for Dear Fido and Fidette have some of the least discriminatory palates in the whole pet kingdom!
And yet… when you give Dear Fido a taste treat he holds dear, his whole body wags for joy, and his huge warm loving heart almost bursts with delight.
Fido and Fidette are gourmands to the max!
The important thing to consider is the fact that cancer and disease rates are climbing for our dear four furry footed friends.
And, the diet is the most controllable aspect of prevention… no guarantees of course!
Our dear Shepherd died of cancer… and she was fed a very high quality diet.
However, at the time, I was ignorant of some important facts.
1. Just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s good. It’s true that preservatives aren’t very popular, and if we can live without them it would be best, but they are very necessary if you insist on using dry dog food.
You see, fat and oil rancidity caused by oxidation is one of the most harmful factors in dry pet food. This oxidation is far more dangerous than small amounts of preservatives.
If you can obtain nitrogen packed food that you then refrigerate or freeze upon opening, then no preservatives would be best.
But, nitrogen packed dogfood is rare, if non-existent.
Some dogs seem to do well on cheap dog food, but it is more common for dogs to do poorly and have skin and health conditions due to the low quality ingredients.
Dogs tummies are quite tough and strong, and they can definitely consume things that would cause you and I great grief.
Nevertheless, with rising disease rate such as diabetes, kidney disease and cancer, one may want to buy the very best they can for the price they can afford.
For store bought food, many people have had great success with Hundenflocken and Dick Van Patten’s varieties.
But the very best is Honest Kitchen’s Dehydrated Vegetables and Meats – you much purchase it very fresh and then refrigerate it.
We’ve seen skin conditions disappear within days with Honest Kitchen.
Are dogs really allergic to chicken, or beef, or grains?
Perhaps what they are really allergic to is the genetically modified and chemicalized contaminants in the meat and grains.
It is not natural and normal for a canine to have problems with any meat.
But, considering that cows, pigs and chickens are fed derivatives, extracts and pellets of fecal, urinary and blood products, it’s no wonder that allergies and reactions are occurring.
If you love your pet, there are alternatives – we will have more information in depth soon!!!
We love you, for loving your pet! : )
